My first blog about fish

Ok this is the first time i ever really done a blog. I have decided I want to write a blog about the experiences I have with taking care of cichlids not just what i think is the proper care for them. I want to write about how I see there personality change and how one cichlid is different from another. I know not everyone will find this interesting or will even care to read this blog. But I really have found it fascinating how you are always told the Oscars cichlids are so aggressive and can never be with any other fish and how most pet stores never tell you how to take care of cichlids properly and that you do need a big aquarium to care for them properly. I have also found that many people give away these fish once they have reached there full length. If I could build a big aquarium to care for these fish i would and take in all them and nurse and every single one back to health. so basically this blog is to educate people on the proper care of cichlids and all fresh water fish.
I am also going to talk about the changes i have seen with the cichlids that i am caring for and my mom is caring for.
My Mom would always tell me never to get cichlids because they are to hard to care for and they are really aggressive. well one day i went in to petsmart and say tiger oscar cichlid looked very different from the other ones that i have seen before i noticed that he had very long fins and lady at petsmart said they rarely ever get them in. He was $15.00 he was only about three to four inch's long. I wasnt sure if i should pay the much for a fish but after driving away and thinking about it for an hour i want back in a bought him and haven't regretted it. At first he was in 10 gallon for about 2 months then he went in to a 20 gallon i noticed 0 he growing very fast and any fish i put with he would just eat or kill it.
I knew i needed to get a bigger aquarium soon because he was growing so quickly so i went on to ksl.com and found 50 gallon aquarium for $25 everything with it. The only thing was is i had to take the guppies that came with it so i took it and put the guppies in the 20 gallon and i also had found 45 gallon tall aquarium. so he was in 45 gallon tall aquarium all by himself. I hadnt tried to put any fish with him for sevral months because he would just eat them or kill them. well after 6-7 months i had other cichlids that i had bought or rescued. so i decided to try again to see what would happen i honestly thought the second i put a fish with him it would be dead so i put feeder fish in with him. then i put blue cichlid in and watched him nothing happen he didnt even touch the fish. so the next day i decided to try to put another fish in with him nothing happened he didnt care i was amazed!! i put all my cichlids in with him he just ignored them. he could of killed all of them he is 3 times the size of them. I just didnt know what to think at all. this fish use to kill everything and anything now he is nicest fish around. He has become my friend he is probaly about 10 inch's long now and every time i walk in to bedroom he notices that your in the room and come right up to the front of the aquarium and lets you pets him.

I know some of you will think i am very odd for writing about fish but i just want people to know more about fish and neat they are.
